Keith,

The advertised time is 19:30...but I guess that depends on me arriving in good order!

Look forward to meeting you there!

PS If you've an unsigned MuG bring it along and I'll happily sign it.....

Thanks for the time. I do have a copy and will bring it! I'll have to buff up on 35th Brigade RFA's Diary for the period between now and then so I can ask some awkward questions! wink.gif

On the basis that I can't even recall this unit at Loos sounds like I'm in trouble!
Rockdoc
I'll be gentle! laugh.gif They were part of The Immortal 7th and would have been on the left of the Division, I think, as their targets seem to have been Hohenzollern Redoubt, Big Willie, Pope's Nose and the Quarries, which look to have been on the border with 9th Division. The Diary doesn't give the gun positions but the Brigade HQ was at Noyelles en Vermelles.

Just to confirm - is this still on today?
Rockdoc
I hope so. Ruth & I are planning to come along and it's a fair trek from Derby! wink.gif

We had a horrible journey to Callow End - foul weather and fouler traffic - but it was well worth the agony. We were made very welcome by the group and Niall's talk was excellent. It was great to meet both him and Centurion and spend a few minutes chatting face to face instead of finger to keyboard. I was even given a winning raffle ticket! smile.gif

Thanks, everyone, for making it worthwhile.

Keith,

The drive home was a lot easier than gonig...less traffic but worse rain.

In any case I thought an excellent venue and a good crowd and a pleasure to meet you!

Here's to the next one.....
