Just came across this article on the BBC Northern Ireland Website. I was really proud to see the event being commemorated in Northern Ireland.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/8017872.stmThe sad thing about the event is that I and others did not know anything about the event as I guess other Northern Ireland Forum members to attend.

Just for info, the picture of Lance Corporal Michael O'Leary was the first in a small series of Victoria Cross winners by the battle artist Lady (Elizabeth) Butler 1846-1933. Although they were not drawn from life, portrait photographs of these men appeared in the newspapers of the time. This picture was painted in 1915 and was exhibited at the Leicester Galleries in 1917.
Other VC winners in this series are a soldier of the 1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers at Gallipoli (probably William Kenneally); Drummer Walter Richie, 2nd Battalion,Seaforth Highlanders; CSM .Frederick Barter, RWF; Major JLR Sampson of the Black Watch and "A Man of Kent" which is possibly Corporal William Cotter of the 6th Battalion, "The Buffs".

Sorry - long finger job due to credit crunch .. unless miracle happens.
Basically the finished product will be a walk-through of the war as it was reported in columns of local paper .. enhanced with other research/ stories etc
To keep things approx on topic, here's a page from the 1915 series featuring some Gallipoli stuff. Eahc 'Year Chapter' will have an overview piece and #points of entry information about aspects' .. but the accounts from the paper are the core.
