Dave Stowe was asked to be this year's speaker at the Friends of Beckett St Cemetery's annual AGM. He was ably assisted by fellow enthusiast Chris Noble.

Chris Noble explaining the actions which led to Herbert Wilson's death with the 15th West Yorkshire Regiment in May 1916. Herbert is what is termed a 'private commemoration' on his father's headstone in Beckett Street Cemetery, Leeds. Chris also pointed out the inaccuracy of the date of death and how this differs from official versions.

Hello Rab,
Thanks for the update. Good to hear Dave's learning the Art of Public Speaking, I'll put him under some pressure to give The Wakefield Military History and Medal Collectors Group a talk about the 10th West yorkshire Regiment on the Somme. He can bring fellow enthusiast Chris Noble along for moral support.

Ron

Hi Ron,
I'm sure Dave will be chuffed to be asked to speak to your group, and it's always nice to have a good friend like Chris there for moral support.

Their talks certainly went down very well at Beckett Street.

Here's a link to the Beckett Street website for those who are interested. link
