Enlisted Stratford-on-Avon, September 1914
Died Wednesday, 19th July 1916 aged 21
Grandson of Mrs. C. Davis at Emms Court, Sheep Street

Stratford upon Avon Herald 25th August 1916
"In a letter received yesterday by Mrs C Davis at Emms Court, Sheep Street, the County Territorial Force Record Office unable to furnish further information regarding her grandson who was posted as missing after an engagement in France on July 19th. Private Davis enlisted in the Royal Warwicks in September 1914 but was discharged after a few months training on account of fluid on the knee. He returned home for a brief period and after his recovery he rejoined. Private Davis was formerly employed at the brewery."

"Mrs C Davis of 6 Emms Court has been notified of the death of her grandson, Private Thomas H. Davis of the 2nd 7th Royal Warwickshire Regiment while a prisoner of war. He was only 21 years of age and was formerly employed at the brewery. He enlisted at the start but met with an injury and was discharged. On recovering he joined up again."
