There is no trace of Herbert on the Scotland and England censuses for 1891 and 1901 and nothing on the 1911 census with a Coventry/ Warwickshire connection.
The birth records of Scotland might be the best route?

To save anyone else from wasting money on a certain Scottish genealogy site, I'll add that the closest match we've got so far is one Herbert William STANLEY, born at 92 High St, Fraserbugh, on 6 May 1897 to Herbert (an insurance salesman) and Isabella (nee WILL), who were married in Fraserburgh on 2 Mar 1897.
A sister, Isabella Jane, was born in Castle Lane, Fraserburgh, on 20 Nov 1898. Unfortunately, the surname is quite clearly STANLEY on both BCs, including the father's signature. I *think* the sister died in Liverpool in Q2 1900, age 1, and the rest of the family are boarding in Northallerton, Yorks, in 1901, but no Coventry connection and not STANWAY!
