Chris Boonzairs' site has a bit of everything from the german perspective. Also, the Austro-Hungarian land forces site is excellent.
There is a Romanian military history site out there too.

The only problem with ww2.ro is that the hosts there ,one is Denes (or something) and the other Dragos,use Germans avatars /they are Nazi ,also are great defenders of Marshal Ion Antonescu.Ion Antonescu (the Romanian Hitler) destroyed everything Romanian Army acomplished in WW1 .

what Royal Army?,King Carol the II of Romania,started with nationalization,friend with the Nazi Romanian Movement(Iron Guard),his son,King Michael was put on the throne by Ion Antonescu(Romanian Hitler),......???

And Romania continues to be Communist Country,they don't give back nationalized property.
The Communist Lords don't wanna give up power.They share the country between their families.Or they are clients of Russia ?or both.

This is an excellent, if however German, site about the battles of Gumbinnen, Tannenberg and Masurian lakes during the first campaign in East Prussia during 1914.

Thank you SMSKaiser - always appreciate constructive and civil input. If you are aware of other good websites from the Eastern Front, please post them. Earlier this year we lost August Blume to cancer and he had an extensive knowledge of the Eastern Front.

Thanks Borden Battery and teghist for the update on the American who had started a well designed website on the Eastern Front in the USA but who recently died and the two Russian discussion groups respectively. There are in fact several other Russian discussion groups: on fortifications, on aviation, on the Russian Navy for example. As well Russia seems to be digitizing rare materials including pre-Revolutionary materials. I have put up prior to the establishment of this sub-forum in the online internet resources sub-forum(not sure if this still exists!) some relevant sites inlcuding a Russian official provincial gazette covering the war years that has been digitized.

Here is another German source about the Eastern front from the German point of view.
The style of his writing is not that easy and many abbreviations are used, sometimes, at least in my opinion, Russian casualties are exaggerated, but apert froma very detailed account of almost any engagement it states very accurate German casualty figures.
