Northamptonshire WFA welcomes guest speaker Charles Messenger this coming Thursday 11 June at 7.30pm, with his talk 'Officer Selection and Training in the Great War'
Charles's talk will show how the problem of producing sufficient officers for a rapidly expanding army became apparent as early as September 1914. He will review the methods evolved for creating a new officer corps and how the training was carried out. The talk will also look at how the new officer corps blended with the old.
Several Forum Pals will be there, and we welcome old friends and newcomers alike. Our venue is the Ex-Servicemen's Club in Sheep Street, which has ample free parking. We would be delighted to see you for what I'm sure will be a memorable evening.

Brian and Kate, and, indeed, Martin, Andy, Kevin, Stebie and everyone else
It was very good to meet you all and to put some faces to names on the Forum. Thank you, too, for looking after me so well. You are a great bunch at Northampton.

A belated thank you to Charles for a cracking talk and an autograph or two.
We were even considerate enough to let a few MK bods cross the border controls. They of course behaved themselves, perhaps the awe of being released from their normal surroundings helped.
A recommended speaker and talk.
