As part of events being held around the British Isles on 27 June, Birmingham is holding an event at Centenary Square. My mate, Dave Vaux and myself will have a large display of medals, photographs and ephemera concerning the Birmingham Pals (14, 15 & 16 Royal Warwicks) on display in the tents provided for the WW1 Living History Group that are also there on the day.

We have just put the finishing touches to a half size model of the Birmingham Battalions War Memorial that is in St Martin's Church, in Birmingham's Bullring.

If any forum member would like to drop by and say hello or have a chat to the public about various WW1 matters, then please do so. We will be setting up the display from 8 am onwards and the event begins at 11 am and finishes at 5 pm.

Would anyone like to see a photo of the half size Memorial?

How did this go? Apologies I couldn't make it as I was in Somerset. I for one would like to see a photo of the model.

Cheers.

I hope the event went better than the Glasgow event . It was spoiled by 10 protestors from the Republican supporters whom started to shout Scum during the two minutes silence. Then much to there surpise and most of us on parade a band of loyalist charegd them and they ran for there life . Police made 15 arrests lord knows why did the Police not move them on knowing full well what they was there for and illegaly . So Glasgow made the news for all the wrong reasons and not the right ones to remember the veterans whom have served past and present.

Thanks for the photo Alan.

Roger,

The day went well, until the rain started around 4 pm. It was like a tropical storm. However, the parade went ahead despite it.

Cheers
