Has anyone ever compiled a list of staff officers working at Allenby's GHQ in Palestine toward the end of the campaign? Some of this (at a senior level) is readily found using Official Histories and the like but I wondered if anyone knows of more detailed sources that go down to juinior officers?

Would love to know the answer to this one also. I've a Staff Captain residing in my collection, but I don't know what section of the HQ he worked in (do have the LG entry of his relief.) I've a mention of him in someone else's diary, but nothing concrete to place him properly.
I hope someone knows where the Staff Listings are.

I have not read it, but why don't you try Archibald Wavell's Palastine Campaign, published 1928. He was certainly there under Allenby at some stage - probably 1918, but can't put my hand on his biography just at the moment!
Hope this helps!

Wavell acted as Robertson's liaison officer in Palestine with Allenby.
Colonel Richard Meinertzhagen (1878-1967) was a soldier and explorer who commanded the Field Intelligence Section, EEF in 1917-18, Chief Political Officer in Palestine and Syria 1919-20. Middle East Advisor at the Colonial Office 1921-24.

Chris, I'm not quite sure what you mean here, but if you are referring to the OH's Appendix 2 & 3, then yes the info is a bit thin with only 7 names including Allenby's
However, pages 37 & 38 of
'The Advance of the EEF... etc... etc' mention 25 or more offices & office-holders at GHQ
see
