I have been reading "Massacre at Passchendaele" The New Zealand Story. by Glyn Harper.

He was the Commanding Officer at the NZ Army's Military Studies Institute at Trentham - also wrote "Kippenberger: an inspired New Zealand commander".

The author is of the opinion that the first assault on Passchendaele on the 4th October 1917 was a near pefect military operation however the second assault on the 12th October 1917 was New Zealand's worst military disaster. Over 1000 Kiwis were killed and a further 2000 wounded in a few hours.

The book contains good battleground photos, diary extracts and a detailed list of names of those killed during the Passendaele battles.

Has anyone else read this or is it only available down here ?
