This is a piece I started more than two years ago. I won't go into why it has taken so long to be painted. My Omaha painter and friend, Charlie Duckworth, recently completed it and I'm very happy with the outcome. Hope you like it!
As a reminder, I'm including the Fortunio Matania wartime illustration to which we're paying homage. Mr. Matania did a color version of the illustration which was given to the British Blue Cross after the war.
All the best,
Dan

Thanks Dan
The use of animals are amongst some of the most moving and evocative images of the Great War in my opinion. Matania does a good job too.

Dan,
An excellent interpretation of the famous painting and not an easy task given the attitude of the figures.....much cutting and scratchbuilding I suspect.
well done, ET

York16 and Eric:
Many thanks! Glad you liked it! If you want to see more about the scratchbuilding, try searching posts of the same title and you should get photos of the various stages of building. As I recall I posted work in progress photos.
All the best,
Dan
