In memory of Lawrence Henry Kennedy who served as Gunner 166151 in 5 Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Lawrence died of wounds this day 10th October 1918, aged 20. He was the son of Jane Elizabeth Kennedy of Seaton Delaval, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. At the time 5 Siege Battery's six 6" howitzers were dispersed in the area of Douvrin (two sections) and south of Billy (one section), having advanced from Cambrin and La Bassee.

Lawrence now rests in Terlincthun British Cemetery, Wimille.
