Possibly the British War Medal. I'm not sure if they appear on the Admiralty medal rolls, have you checked them? They are offline, at Kew on microfilm.

That said I have never heard of a BWM to HMCG??,usually they earned a RN LSGC Medal,[named to HMCG],having been old stagers in the RN for many years prior to the LSGC.

Hi
The Coastguard was a part of the Royal Navy and as such the officers and men had to be fit for active service. During the Great War the Coastguard almost ceased to exsist, those required returning to active service, those remaining manning signal stations and assisting Marine Superintendants.
The answer is the same entitlement as a man in the Royal Navy.
