poppy.gif Between 13 - 16 October 1914 my grandad with his mates in the 1st Battalion, Cheshire Regiment, were in action near Festubert. On the 16th they "went over the top" and the following day, strengthend by a reinforcement of 3 officers and 250 men, a stronger battalion successfully attacked Violaines.

The following brave lads were killed in action between 13th and 16th October - please spare a moment to honour their memory today: poppy.gif
