In memory of my dear late stepmum's dad, Robert George Andrews, who served as Rifleman 49149 in 3rd Battalion Rifle Brigade from July 1918 to March 1919. On this day, 16th October 1918, Robert received a severe gunshot wound when the battalion was coming out of the line after it's involvement in 'The Pursuit to the Selle'. He was admitted to No. 18 General Hospital in Camiers, via 72nd Field Ambulance, and was on convalesence at the time of the armistice.

Robert went on to serve with 25th and 16th Battalions KRRC, and was discharged to Class Z in December 1919.
