In memory of Albert Frederick Percy Jackman and Andrew Cleveland Wright, who respectively served as Gunners 64207 and 40700 in 5 Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Both men died this day 20th October 1916.

At this time the howitzers of 5 Siege Battery were in position near Collincamps. During the late afternoon on the 20th the explosion of a 5.9" shell killed Albert Jackman and severely wounded Andrew Wright. Andrew was taken to the rear, but sadly died of his wounds that evening.

Albert was born and lived in Sunninghill, Berkshire, the son of Frederick and Eliza Jackman, and was 22 when he died. He now rests in Courcelles-Au-Bois Communal Cemetery Extension.
