We've just received advance warning from production company Darlow Smithson, that a programme with which we assisted earlier in the year, will see light of day in the UK on Channel 4.

'Fighting the Red Baron' is a one and a half hour programme which explores WW1 aerial combat and compares them with techniques used by RAF pilots today.

We were delighted to offer the loan of the 'Biggles Biplane' hangar and several 'props' for filming at Sywell, including our BE-2 replica and Paul Ford's Fokker DR-1 replica. There was also quite a bit of filming at Old Warden too - and I know quite a few forumites were involved.

Should be interesting to see the finished article!

Wow - that should be good. Hope someone gives us a reminder so we don't miss it.

As another involved in the Shuttleworth filming, I've been dying to see the finished article - took quite a few pictures, will put them up once the programme's been shown.

I'll whack my photos up from the filming nearer the time. Good timing as well as it's on a few hours after I get back from Mons

Tle latest news is that Channel 4 has decided to take the programme out of the planned 9 Nov schedule, as it is such a strong film they don't want to 'bury' it against the big-viewing Life on BBC1 and Flash Forward on FIVE.

They apparently also feel that it is good enough in its own right to not need the peg of Remembrance week to hang it on. Quite a complement to the IWDS team!

More news shortly - and more pics at www.biggles-biplane.com wink.gif

A Fokker Triplane on your tail, bet that would be a pretty grim vision to behold if you were the British pilot.
A very good photo................
