Can anybody recommend any personal accounts, (British or German), of the Battle of Guillemont 1916.
I have Jungers book.

Francis Hitchcock 'Stand To! - A Diary of the Trenches' (first published c.1931, but there are modern reprints). Hitchcock was opposite Junger at one point.
There are also some first hand accounts in 'War Letters of Fallen Englishman'. I remember a particularly good one by 2/Lt A.C.Young of 7/8 RIF, who later died at Passchendaele.
