Stars and Stripes was an eight-page weekly newspaper published in Paris from February 1918 to July 1919; I own one of the 1919 issues with a story about Doughboys in Archangel. When on the website be sure to click on the "Closer look at
Stars and Stripes" link towards the bottom of the page. I haven't experimented with the available software options and zoom feature so I can't tell whether the newspapers can actually be read using this online source. The newspaper resumed publication as a daily during World War II with an office in Printing House Square, London and my dad was among the earlier members of the staff of
Stars and Stripes-Pacific founded in Tokyo in late 1945.
