Per the sinking of "Hersperian": this was a North Atlantic run passenger and immigrant ship used pre war between Great Britain and Canada. Relatively new she was sunk while on her way back from Great Britain but this time carrying a fair number of convalescing wounded and sick Canadian soldiers. Several Canadian soldiers died in the sinking. Fair bit of secondary literature and of course contemporary news reports on her sinking. Check out the online editions of the Toronto Star and Toronto Globe newspapers for example.
