A group of pupils from my sons' school went on a 'Battlefields' trip in May.

One of the students (Mary) has used her photos to create this impressive and haunting reminder of the visit.

It's worth a watch, and can be viewed on the school website:

Wonderful. Very accomplished.

Very well done indeed! Extremely sophisticated juxtaposition of images- even some of the stock transitions (which I usually find annoying) work well in this context and there are some really nice (and quite original for such frequently photographed locations) views too. Mary did an excellent job.

Great job. I sent the school a note saying the same.

Very well done indeed and a great credit to her.

Very poignant, superb photos with well chosen music.

Great job Mary. Would be very proud if my young daughter produces anything like this in the future.

Never mind a daughter, I'd be leaping about if I could do something as good as that!

Bravo!

I even bought the song from iTunes.

Don't leap about Bruce - you will yourself a hernia. There are a lot of them about on Merseyside at the moment.

You beat me to it, Bruce. Congratulations to Mary on a fine piece of work on all levels. I suppose now, just to rub in how technologically backward we are, Eirian is going to tell us that she's only 13 ...

By coincidence, I was looking just the other day at a couple of photos I took while I was at school - of which I have both prints and the original b/w 120 format negatives. Thinking of technicalities, though, I wonder how easy it's going to be for Mary's generation to preserve their early work in viewable form for the next 40 years.

I reckon so yes, as she was in year 9 at the time!

Impressive work at any age, and the music adds a poignancy. I thought people on the forum might be interested to see it.

Crikey, and there was me thinking I was kidding ... biggrin.gif

I am even more impressed.

A fine piece of work - a great many places packed into the tour judging by the visual material

Well done to Mary and also to the school for giving the piece such a public platform.
