He joined the RAN in 1926. He was on the Canberra, my Dad's ship, when she was newly commissioned in 1928. I notice he transferred to the Naval Dockyard Police in 1950 (my grandfather was in the NDP) and left the RAN in 1956.

There's another NAA record about a motor accident in 1947, which gets a mention on his record.

His son was baptised aboard HMS Sussex when it visited Fremantle in 1934. His daughter was previously baptised in HMS Vernon in England.
