Full Version: Royal Navy and Ancestry
I look to the day when RN medal, service, pension, and death records get some equal time here. Insight anyone?
I completed the transcription of the Royal Marine Medal Rolls earlier this year (ADM/171/167-171 & ADM/171/92), but Ancestry said they were fully booked with Military items until March 2010. I will approach them again in March, but tis' a shame they did not bite immediately. My time spent since improving & adding info to the transcript, but plan to do the same for ADM/171 series Royal Naval Officers' Medal Rolls & the RNVR other ranks. Recession no doubt curtails investment in shrinking online sales.

ADM 139 & 188 are available for download free of charge this month via NA DocumentsOnline at Manchester Central library. I'm working over the road and pop in most days, so would be happy to do any look ups and get the documents for you.
