I've had this photo for a while but was awaiting for the info behind the soldier. Yorkshire Evening Post " Sgt Wilfred Sewell has died at Netley Hospital from gunshot wounds in the head and right thigh. He was 34 years of age, and son of the late Robert Sewell of Hunslet. His wife lives at 24 Newbawn Cottages, Farnley. The body, which has been brought to Leeds, is to be interred at Woodhouse Hill Cemetery, Hunslet" (now known as Leeds Hunslet Old Cemetery). I just thought now that I had the info I would share it.

Hi Chris

I have seen this headstone along with a few more in the cemetry at Hunslet. Unfortunately the cemetry is a playground for the yobs (look at the background of your photo), these men gave their lives for us, they deserve better.

Hi mametz.
One thing i have learned about wandering round these inner city cemeteries is DON'T GO ALONE.
It's particularly bad at Hunslet which is a shame as i've found the staff at the cemetery very helpful.
Chris.

Could I be cheeky and ask you to re-post the image of Sgt Sewell
