Further to the thread on "isolated graves", I was interested while reading up on Major Redmond that there is a pub in Loker named after him.
Does this pub still exist.?
Neil Mackenzie
Yes - Redmond's Irish pub is in Dikkebusstraat

Thanks for that Neil.

Bob.

Anyone been to this pub recently?
Liam
Isn't it amazing that wherever you go in the world there is always an Irish pub.

I have heard that when the moon is colonized the first thing they are going to do is open one together with a McDonalds which is another outlet which seems to be everywhere.

The owner of the pub is Francky Vanacker mobile phone number 0032473239268. I was living for about 30 years in Loker and i was recently in the pub. Do you want more about Loker and this pub.
Visit www.heuvellandverbeeldt.be and search on Loker

Welcome to the Forum, Alhambra

Thanks for replying Alhambra, and welcome to the Forum.

I would just like to know roughly what the pub is like, particularly

Is it open at lunch times?

Does it do food at lunch time?

Te website looks very useful. I wish I could read Dutch!

I am trying to work out a number of places I might stop at for lunch on a forthcoming tour. I am not sure yet that I am gong to go to Loker, but it is one of a number of possibilities.

Thanks for your help.

That may be true Beppo, although I have not been in, but did drive past some years ago. However, I am looking for somewhere that's clean (have a very fussy mother in that respect and she will be with me) and convenient for a quick lunchtime stop.

Not often open, no food at lunch time during the week. But there you are only 13km of Ypres, where you cann find evrything of food for lunch.
