The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records show that Quartermaster Serjeant W.Viggars (King's African Rifles and 3rd Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers) died on February 18, 1918 and was buried in Kaduna Civil Cemetery in Nigeria. How can I find out what the KAR and, in particular Serjeant Viggars, was doing in Nigeria at that period?

I suspect he was involved with "Policing" the Tribal uprisings there which led a few months later to the Campaign against the Egba Tribe{around Lagos}{June ~July 1918} for which a Clasp to the Africa General Service Medal "Nigeria 1918" was granted
There is an excellent Written History of the KAR simply titled that recently,if not currently in press.
