Can anyone give me anymore information on the attack on the River Selle in October 1918 and does anyone have any pictures of the area of attack

Where is the "River Selle" ?

Conor,
I have a pair of medals to 74976 Pte. Fred Lees, 12th Manchesters, who was killed in action in the assault across the Selle 12 Oct.,1918. The unit lost 280 men that day.

River Selle flows north west from Le Cateau towards Denain.

I've got a map dated 12 october showing enemy order of battle. If you are interested I 'll try and scan or photo a copy.
