And another one.
This is another one I have often wonderd about. The Pipe Pusher.I have read about its use in several situations, but in this case, I am thinking about its use in High Wood.I know they took a lot of time. Effort. And manpower to transport and set one up in High Wood, I believe it was a failure, due to the tree roots Ect. Now to the question, I wonder if any one can tell me how it worked. Knowing this forum somebody will.(Grantaloch.) Bob.

Bob,
They were devices to push tin cannisters containing explosive (ammonal) underground underneath the enemies trenches, where they would then be exploded. Neither the pipe-pushers or the flammenwerfers (large, not man-portable like the German ones) were of any great value at High Wood.

Well, it didn't, but another odd thing was my original reply (or replies as it turned out) were written about 10.30 a.m., but somehow appear to have been added two hours earlier! Very odd.......
