I have finally chosen a design for my Grave Markers, and have 2 on trial at East Cemetry Bournemouth.
The grave I chose to mark was DD Whitham, he is the Aussie soldier who fell in the Great War and whose son died fighting in WW2, thier story as it unfolded on the forum is here:

I like that Soren, although I'm afraid the headstone (I'm assuming tht's what it is) does make it look a little like Tommy is taking a leak...

Errr - the same thought ocurred to me, Soren. I like the idea, but perhaps a little relocating...

Is it Bruges has the little Peeing Boy statue? You could come to rival him, Soren! There's a market for them!

Never mind Soren. You may have stumbled on a new marketing strategy. You may get orders from unexpected places.
Wee will remember, doubtless.

Not too sure about the idea of a grave marker ("why?" jumps to the forefront of my mind here), but Soren - you've surpissed (sorry, I mean surpassed) yourself there - I think that drawing's GREAT!!!!!

Well, it would certainly mark a grave if you did that on it.
Seriously, Soren. Which graves did you want to mark? And was there a particular purpose?
3500... Oh Dear....

It's an idea from what I'd seen around the war graves in Belgium, personal memorials/messages left by visitors on various soldiers graves/memorials, generally bits of paper wrapped in cling film/plastic and the like.
I just thought that a small discreet matt laminate card like this would be ideal; credit card sized, fits in ones wallet and does not try to do anything special other than record people’s messages/thoughts, innit
It's matt lamented so that you write on the back in whatever comes to hand, pencil/pen etc

Now I'm pissed off! 3.500

Lovely idea, good drawing but why oh why not do market research before ordering 3,500. How much did that set you back?
If they aren't used for grave markers I'll have one for a bookmark.

Perhaps you could market them to the MOD Health and Safety comittee "Wee will remember-to wash our hands" or other such messages-there must be 3,500 suitable outlets for them.
Lovely drawings as always,
Rob

Maybe you should have posted before you ordered, Soren. Though I can see a certain 'collectors' value in them......
Great idea if ....unfortunate

I think they'll do all right, I expected a bit of stick

anyhow, I'm popping orf to the park/cemetry to see how my trial is doing, been pretty wet down here, so a good test for them!

Soren, how much are they each, and what is the postage?
Had you thought of changing the message to 'Please adjust your dress before leaving'

actually they do look good and serve their purpose. The main thing is that I wanted something that was not overpowering, and just did their job, paying respect.
my intentions were genuine!

Do you have a pic of one on a grave so we might get perspective on their size and just see how they look in the field.
To be honest I didn't see the 'act' until I read the first post, but now thats all I can see. Quite funny!
