I was just contacted by our German friend Friedhelm who cannot post for technical reasons here. He conveys from the regimental history in his possession that:
"Plotycza was alternating rear area location for one of the Battalions during the battles at River Stypa, Nov 1915 till June 1916. The village/town was also seat of Rgt HQ.
With respect to the depicted Gentlemen: the regimental history only mentioned Major Schaumann (not Schumann) and Leutnant Stephan the regimental adjutant"
