You know I always try to do my best.
But these photographs were only size 4 x 6 cm, printed on war-time paper, many were of bad quality, not good enough to be reproduced.

I have to add to Egbert's comments. The pix are just great and it is a wonderful thing that you have chosen to share these pix with us. It has always been a sub interest of mine and since these pix are hard to come by they add to our understanding of the conditions faced by these men.

Open letter to Cnock:
I know how you feel, lots of scanning effort and no appreciation/commentary on this time consuming work. I know exactly how you must feel! Sadly I suspect if you had posted the same pictures as British photos you had substantial replies and recognition. As they are of German origin the interest here in this forum fades quickly - consequences? = yes, at least on my side
