I have some questions about dates on certain tombs I saw in cemeteries near my home in Belgium.
About Leuze cemetery : 24 soldiers died between March and June 1918 and 25 of them died between June and September none of them were aviators, the major part of the 24 died in april between the 13th and the 26st.
Regarding the dates this is obvious that these people were prisoners but has anyone a clue about their death?
There were no major battles in that neighbourhood so I don't think they were used to clear mines or explosives.
About Ath Communal cemetery : Everyone but 3 died in February and March, it's a bit too late to die from their wounds so I guess that was due to the Spanish flu, is it right?
I know there was a Australian medical station in Ath so I guess that everyone came from there.
