I'm researching my family history and was advised to visit this forum for a bit of help.
Apparently, some distant cousins were in Athens during WWI, attending a church service before moving on. This is part of a bigger family legend and I am just trying to sort it out bit by bit.
Can anyone shed light on when & why British soldiers would be in Athens, briefly, sometime during the first world war? I've been reading up on Greece at the time and it seems very complicated!
Thank you.
