Would people know where one might source the numbers of mines actually swept by the allies around Gallipoli. Although not researching the topic in depth as yet, there appears to be only passing references to one factor that may have had a critical bearing on the overall failure of the campaign. It would appear that there were no purpose designed minesweepers as we now understand them, and sweeping was attempted by either fishing vessels or smaller warships.
