Does any one have any information regarding the 1917 train accident that occured in the french alps on dec 12 1917? I believe that over 500 french soldiers were killed.
thanks

Here's a link

There were at least two further crashes in exactly the same spot. Those that I know about involved British troops returning from the Italian front in March 1918,. On the 4th a train carrying part of 123rd Infy Bde (including my grandfather, whose descr I have) and one on ?12th (I don't have ref in front of me) a train carrying King Edwards Horse (descr in regtl hist).
I'm trying to find out more !
