Hi, I am researching a 46 year old man who joined the RAF in August 1918 and was in France within 23 days. Is this unusual or would his training have taken place in France. He did not have any special skills as far as I am aware. He was employed as an agricultural labourer and was less than 5ft tall. Thanks Sue

Depending on his allocated role they may have decided training could be done in France, on the job. If he was just used for general labouring then no real training would be needed.
