Herbert C Stevens Gloucs Regt

another latest acquisition Herbert's BWM. his medal is marked 1219 but MIC has 1219TF, took a while to pin him down.

would it have been the norm, to omit the TF from the medals and any other paperwork? just makes the job harder!

The MIC does have T.F. on it, but would that actually be a part of his official number? His service papers just show 1219, although obviously he was in the T.F.

 

In case you don't have it, Herbert Cottell Stevens joined the 4th Glosters 1/2/1911. He was aged 17 and from Bristol. He was in the BEF from 31/3/1915 to 29/5/1915. He was discharged sick (shell shock) 25/10/1915. He appears to have died in 1966.

I knew it was Herbert but not Cottell. the medal only has 1219, I searched for his MIC but not found as it needed the TF.

its the only one Ive found like it...so far.
