RAMC Transport 1918 France medal or coin or ???

Hello:

Attached are images of what I assumed was a medal, but there isn't a name on the rim. So not sure what it is. Searched the internet for similar images and nothing came up. Anyone have any idea what this is? Both my husband's grandfathers served in the RAMC so we don't know who originally obtained it. The one side reads RAMC Transport France 1918.

Would appreciate any help.

I'm no expert SJGS, but it looks to me, to be a Show jumping or hunting commemorative disk,

Regards.

I would tend to agree with Gerwyn, on the Salonika front the 27th Division held a 3 day horse show in 1917, Divisions and Corps on the western front may well have done the same to entertain and occupy the troops behind the lines.

Quite a number of Divisions/Regiments/Units produced medallions for various sports days; Football matches, etc during WW1 as a way of maintaining moral.
My personal favourite is one awarded for the BEF Vegetable Show in 1917.

Thank you all very much. Interesting. I had no idea that any time was allowed for such activities, but as said it would help with morale. Now I just have to figure out to which of my grandfather-in-laws it belonged. I'll start with my m-in-law and see what she says. Again, thanks.
