Liverpool Regiment

I am finishing my article on the MGC man who died in Kentucky and is buried here. I don't think it's good enough for Stand To! but will be in our US journal Camaraderie.

His prior service was with the Liverpool Regiment, do not know the battalion. Should I state his service that way or would I be correct for sure saying The Kings( Liverpool Regiment). Thanks.

Also his brother who had consecutive MGC #, 3389 and 3390- they started at 3000- had prior service in the West Yorkshire Regiment. Is that the correct way to state that?

Paul,

The Army List of 1914 gives following information about it:

The King's (Liverpool Regiment)

The Prince of Wales's Own (West Yorkshire Regiment)

Best wishes,

Jacky
